Individual Counseling in Colorado Springs
You don't have to figure everything out on your own.
Maybe you've been holding it together for a long time.
You're getting through your days, doing what needs to be done, and perhaps even looking fine from the outside. But underneath, something isn't working. You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, haunted by things that have happened, struggling with a relationship, or simply exhausted from carrying too much for too long.
You don't have to have the perfect words for what's wrong. And you don't have to know exactly what you need.
You can start by coming in.
My office is a warm, comfortable place where you can settle in, exhale, and talk honestly about what's happening. You won't be judged, rushed, or expected to have everything figured out. We'll start where you are and work together from there.
You bring your life as it really is. I'll bring warmth, experience, honesty, and a clear commitment to helping you feel better and move forward.
Therapy that goes somewhere
I believe feeling understood matters enormously. But I also believe therapy should help you create change.
Our work will be collaborative and active. I won't simply sit back and listen week after week while you remain stuck in the same place. Together, we'll get curious about what's underneath the problem, understand the patterns that keep repeating, and find practical ways to begin changing them.
Depending on what you need, our work might involve healing from trauma, managing anxiety, changing your relationship with alcohol or other substances, developing healthier boundaries, understanding difficult relationship patterns, rebuilding your sense of self, or finding your footing during a major life transition.
There isn't one formula I apply to everyone. We'll shape therapy around you.
I can help with
Anxiety & Feeling Overwhelmed
When your mind won't quiet down, you're constantly anticipating what could go wrong, or life simply feels like too much.
Trauma & Painful Experiences
When something that happened in the past is still affecting how you feel, relate, trust, or move through the world today.
Addiction & Recovery
Whether you're questioning your relationship with alcohol or other substances, working toward change, maintaining recovery, or trying to understand the role addiction has played in your life.
Relationships & Boundaries
When you keep finding yourself in painful relationship patterns, struggle to say no, lose yourself taking care of other people, or aren't sure what a healthy relationship should feel like.
Betrayal & Relationship Trauma
When someone you trusted has hurt you and you're trying to make sense of what happened, decide what comes next, and begin trusting yourself again.
Major Life Changes
Divorce. Separation. Loss. Career changes. Children leaving home. Retirement. Starting over. Sometimes the life you knew changes before you've had time to figure out who you are in the life that comes next.
We'll begin with what's hurting now.
You don't need to spend months giving me your entire life history before we address the reason you came.
From our first session, I want to understand what's happening, what you've already tried, what isn't working, and what you most want to change. We'll begin putting the pieces together and developing a direction for our work.
Therapy may be gentle at times and challenging at others. I'll be honest with you. I'll ask questions. I'll notice patterns. I'll help you slow things down when you need to, and I'll encourage you to take meaningful steps when you're ready.
Most importantly, you won't be doing the work alone.
A place to land
There is something different about leaving the rest of the world outside for an hour.
My office in Old Colorado City was created to feel comfortable, private, and human. Come in, get settled, and let this be one hour when you don't have to perform, take care of anyone else, or pretend you're doing better than you are.
You can just be here.
And then, together, we'll work on making the rest of your life feel better too.
You don't have to wait until things get worse.
If you're hurting, struggling, or simply know that something needs to change, that's enough reason to reach out.
You don't need to be certain that therapy will help. You don't need to know exactly what to say. And you don't need to decide anything beyond the first conversation.
Come in. Tell me what's happening. We'll figure out the next step together.
